OBJECTIVES:
- Understand the importance of building capability and capacity for microsystem quality improvement through education of both clinical and non-clinical staff
- Distinguish the learning needs and level of competency needed by staff role, type and scope
- Align quality improvement education with organizational goals and priorities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal organizational quality improvement education & training to extend the dedicated quality workforce and "build the bench"
April Taylor (MS, MHA, FACHE, CMQ/OE, CLSSBB, CPHQ, CPPS) will share information about micro, meso and macrosystem improvement, outline how quality improvement education is a strategic business priority that supports clinical quality improvement and business process improvement; and describe how to build QI capability and capacity as a key components of structure in the Donabedian Framework.
