This presentation will provide an overview of The Stroke STANSE Team and the transformation of stroke care for the TriHealth System in Cincinnati, Ohio. This was possible with the implementation of Telestroke Services to all six hospitals within the organization. Through the implementation of their STANSE Team, TriHealth was able to improve their time-based metrics for stroke care by bringing the management of acute stroke care internally to decrease dependency on an external stroke team. A HFMEA was completed to mitigate risk and identify barriers in clinical care that cause delays to patients. Time is brain. Having well defined parallel processes in place for acute stroke management ensures all teams know their role and responsibilities. The goal is to decrease delays that impact the patient’s outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
• Describe the acronym used to assess for stroke symptoms.
• Describe the tools used to mitigate risk before the process changes for acute stroke.
• Describe metrics used to evaluate the success of the STANSE Team.
