Microaggressions, whether intentional or unintentional, are often deeply rooted in implicit biases. These biases are ingrained attitudes and beliefs that operate beyond our conscious awareness. Typically, these beliefs are assumptions based on stereotypes associated with a person's ethnicity, age, gender, or race. They might stem from familial influences during our formative years or be shaped by media portrayals in news and entertainment. Verbal and nonverbal slights over time impact both mental and physical health affecting patient and staff outcomes.
Join Feliz Rodriguez to share in a lively and interactive discussion about the importance of not only identifying and understanding microaggression, but also how to effectively deal with conflict resolution.
